Pets at weddings – hire them a tuxedo!

Thinking about taking your dog to a family or friends wedding or party? Maybe your getting married and your pooch is a big part of your family.baxter

If I had one of those lovely well trained dogs I would want them there and want them to look gorgeous too. Now instead on a bit of ribbon around their neck you can hire them their own tuxedo.

The easy fit 3 piece pet  Tuxedo looks stunning on dogs and cats.

Velcro belly band and chest band allows for the tux to be adjusted for a secure fit. Made from light weight cotton and full lined. Satin detailing around the collar with white trim. Tux comes with adjustable black and white bow tie and top hat with elastic chin strap.

At  only $35 to hire for 2 days its not going to break the bank and  looks absolutely amazing!

tuxedoMy dog however is very much of the ‘Marley” variety and sadly has goat like tendencies – he would chew it to bits and ask what was for desert!

Of course I would never take my dog in the first place I can already imagine all the inappropriate sniffing, drooling on new outfits, unpleasant bodily emissions during the ceremony, eating the wedding cake the list could go on…

Cut costs for your business: hire instead of buy.

freeimages.co.uk workplace images

The April/May edition of Wellington Today, a magazine for growing businesses, had a lot of interesting articles in it, particularly one called “Trimming the fat”.

The main focus of the article was ways to cut costs and work more efficiently.

It warns of cutting costs not quality and that business survival is a 3 step process – cut costs, hold on to your cash and increase sales. The article then listed several suggestions to go about this.

The part that caught my eye was ‘borrow or rent equipment’ and it asks “Have you ever purchased business equipment for a small period of time?”

I’m sure many of you have but you just don’t need to. You can hire pretty much everything, keeping your cash where you need it, in your business!

Presentations –  audio visual equipment, projectors, conference facilities

Computers – get up to date technology at a fraction of the price, laptops or PC

You can hire office furniture, office space, you can even hire that all important coffee machine.

av1

Pause before that next purchase and consider hiring as an alternative.

I hope we just saved your company a lot of money.

Its new, its exciting and its here… the HirePlana!

You may have noticed a few changes recently 🙂  Yep, Hire Things now has a new look & feel…. and a a few improvements.

Our developers have worked long and hard  (you guys are the best!)  to make the on-line quoting & booking process smoother and easier.

We still have all our great features but now we are adding “the HirePlana”…
The HirePlana is a cross between a personal organiser and a shopping cart for hiring… so with the HirePlana you can hire plan a party, hire plan a wedding, hire plan a project, or hire plan a … well any event, project, adventure, or lifestyle!

You can now browse or search around the over 5,000 goods, places, and services for hire and add to your HirePlana all the things you think you may want.  It doesn’t matter what hire suppliers these things will be coming from, you’ll be able to see and manage all your quote, booking, and information requests in one place.
This means complete events and projects and adventures can be planned online far more easily.
Once you’ve added a few items, you then submit your requests ( ) to get quotes or request bookings, or to get further information.

Submit your requests to get quotes, bookings, or more info.

Submit your requests to get quotes, bookings, or more info.

Shortly afterwards you should then recieve quotes and confirmations ( ).
You can accept quotes to confirm into bookings ( ).

At any time you can continue to add, remove, and adjust quantities for things on your HirePlana until you’ve got everything you need organised.
Track your quotes, request competitive pricing and monitor your budget.

Hire things currently offers an unequaled, nationwide range of hire products, places and services which continues to grow on a daily basis. Adding this planning and organizing tool strengthens our role as New Zealands leading on-line hire and rental resource …..and it is only the beginning!

Let us know what you think
This is all new and fresh, so please let us know if you notice something is not quite right. This is a significant review of the Hire Things website, so if we have missed something, or something is not working, please let us know. Love it, hate it, wish it had been here sooner, we want to hear it all.

Hire Things goes bridal!

Here at Hire Things we love a good wedding, so we jumped at the chance to

visit the Wedding Show in Auckland on Sunday 14 September. And what a day!

We spent the day mingling with customers and chatting to exhibitors, handing out flyers and generally telling everyone that Hire Things is a fantastic place to organise their wedding online.

A  highlight of the show for us was being able to catch up with John de Vere, NZ’s #1 Bee Gees tribute band, Creations by Morris, Insphire and   Excalibur (pictured) who are already listed on Hire Things.

We also chatted with Louise from A Touch of Class who has listed her gorgous vases and centerpieces.  Jill from Fernzlodge has listed her  stunning venue and  an amazing value, complete wedding package that you need to check out now!   Sasha from Heart Strings provide a classical guitar and cello duo to create just the right ambiance for your day.

We spoke to many other suppliers offering  services such as wedding cakes, pamper packages and photography that will soon be able to be booked through Hire Things – watch this space!

Other highlights from the show were the goodie bags full of cute and yummy treats, the exquisite wedding dresses in the fashion show and the endless competitions for free services! Bliss!

Keep an eye out for the Hire Things team at upcoming expos and events – we’re always looking for new ways to connect with our suppliers and promote Hire Things!

The Story of Stuff – this is great

Check out this short video on where stuff comes from and where it goes, and what we can do about it.

The team here at Hire Things are pretty proud to be able to say that we believe hiring things is part of the solution… buy quality, use it and re-use it and let many other people re-use it, and maintain it, and give people an alternative to just buying cheap stuff all the time that just ends up in the landfill.

The higher-quality video can be seen at http://www.storyofstuff.com/ and you can download the video to show your friends from there also.

Enjoy.

Help us test the next Hire Things big feature!!

We want your feedback for the next Hire Things feature

We want your feedback for the next Hire Things feature

The Hire Things team has been working away over the last few months building some pretty significant enhancements into the Hire Things website, and we are nearly ready to bring these to you as customers, and hire suppliers.

But before we do, we would like to give some of you a sneak preview and the chance to give your feedback and help us improve the usefullness and usability of the Hire Things website to you and the thousands of other Hire Things users.  This is often called “beta” testing, so we would love some of you to be our “beta testers” over the next 2-3 weeks.

You can help us test either online (we’ll point you to a test website), or we can set a time for you to come in to the Hire Things Wellington office during the day or early evening and we’ll take you through it and get your feedback and observations.

If you are keen and can spare a couple of hours or so over the coming weeks, drop us a line at feedback@hirethings.com, or call the office on 04-381-4482, and we’ll set things up.

We are very excited about what we’ve got in store for you, and believe it will make organising things for hire for events, projects, and adventures a whole lot easier, and a lot of fun too 🙂

Thanks

Peter, Darryl, Iona, Trish, & Shoaib.
